Reduced loads on ALL municipal roadways currently in effect from 12:00 am on March 1, 2024 until 11:59 pm April 30, 2024 (weather dependent).
Vehicles are restricted to a maximum of five (5) tonnes per axle on municipal roads during the spring thaw.
This is done to protect the road base from damage caused by wheel loads of heavy vehicles and to increase the lifecycle of municipal roadways.
The Municipality of Arran-Elderslie maintains approximately 451 km of roads and streets in Arran-Elderslie. We also own and maintain over 65 bridges throughout the Municipality. The Public Works Department plans and directs the construction and maintenance of Municipal roads, bridges, parking lots, culverts, streetlights, sidewalks, civic address numbers, Municipal drains and other infrastructure.

Entrances, Driveways and Culverts
If you are looking to build a new driveway or modify an existing one, you must contact the Municipality. Please fill out our online form or pick up a paper copy at the Municipal Office. You can view the fees regarding entrance permits, driveways and culverts in our Fees By-Law.
