Tara "100 Trees for 100 Years" Initiative |
The Tara Horticultural Society is celebrating its centennial year in 2024 and to mark this milestone, it is leading fundraising to facilitate the professional planting of 100 native trees in Tara and surrounding area in the autumn of 2024. A large portion of the trees will be planted on the Tara walking trail along the former rail line, Park Rd, Bruce St and Ann St easements, with smaller numbers at the Community Centre, Invermay, Arkwright and Allenford. Please consider contributing to this legacy project that will benefit generations to come, either as an individual, family, business or organization. Tara Pedestrian Bridge |
This project was lead by the Tara Rotary Club who raised money for the project and was made possible by contributions from residents, businesses and organizations. Thank you to the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Tara Festival of Crafts, Lallemand and Ontario Power Generation who also financially supported this project. The Rotary Club would also like to thank Dawley Engineering, GBL Construction and Grey Sauble Conservation. The Tara Rotary Club continues to accept donations for the completion of this project.
